I looked at the LG contents page thingy and sadly couldn't find either the ITV Player or 4OD app. So decided to call JL technical support again (whilst I was in front of the TV this time!). So the man I spoke to was super helpful and really nice. The man said first off don't believe anything any of the sales assistants tell you!

It’s easy to port these apps to the Apple TV so it should only be a matter of time before they get around to supporting the Apple TV as well. Unlike other video on demand services, 4oD is geared to watching the thousands of hours of archived TV material from Channel 4, as well as programmes that have been more recently transmitted from the last 30 days. Channel 4 has launched a new 4oD download service that enables viewers with a smartphone or tablet to watch shows offline on their mobile device.
